Our Core Values
Affirmation
We see each student as an individual, matching what sparks their curiosity with what and how we teach.
Joyful Excellence
We challenge our students’ minds while nurturing their joy of learning.
Community
We join together with families and communities, partnering to pursue the more just world we all want to see.
Collective Power
Together, our students are lighting ever-wider paths to opportunity and change. For themselves. For all those who will follow them. And for us all.
Optimism
Together, we are working toward a just world with no limits, and it starts at our schools.
Step 1: Apply
Step 1: APPLY for KIPP Capital Region: A simple online application is required each year for students to attend a KIPP Capital Region school. Applications for the 2025-26 school year can be submitted after December 1st, 2024 with the best chance of being accepted is to submit an application before midnight on April 1, 2025.
Step 2: Lottery
Step 2: Lottery: If the number of applications received is greater than the seats available, a public lottery is held. The lottery for the 2025-26 school year will take place in early April 2025. Names will be drawn through a random, automated lottery process, and families will be notified of their admission status soon afterward.
Step 3: Enrollment
Step 3: Enrollment: Upon acceptance into a KIPP Capital Region school, accepted families will then need to register their child(ren) for that school. To register, a family will complete an online form and submit a student birth certificate, parent/guardian photo ID, proof of address, and immunization records.
Step 4: Orientation
Step 4: Orientation: Each summer, our schools host orientation events to ensure that our families and students are set-up for success to start the school year strong. These meetings will help families learn important information and receive resources for your child’s first day at a KIPP Capital Region school.
Step 5: First Day
Step 5: First Day: For accepted families, be sure to attend school on the first day! For our waitlisted families, don’t lose hope! We often accept many waitlisted families with the first 3 weeks of school.
